Whitehorse Community Support Register

Helping people living in Whitehorse feel safe and connected to their community

The Whitehorse Community Support Register is a joint initiative between Victoria Police, Neighbourhood Watch Whitehorse and Whitehorse Churches Care.

The Register, a free program facilitated by accredited volunteers is designed to help residents living in Whitehorse feel safe and connected to their community. Anyone can register!

Once on the Register, participants receive regular phone calls to check on their welfare. These can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or whenever you want. The Register contains the registrant's emergency information that can be used to contact key people in the case of an emergency. The program aims to give residents, relatives and friend peace of mind, knowing that someone is checking in on their welfare. We have many Neighbourhood Watch volunteers who also volunteer for the Register making these phone calls.

If a phone call and follow-up calls are not answered within a specific time frame, your nominated emergency contact is notified. If we are unable to reach your emergency contact, we will arrange for Victoria Police to conduct a welfare check.

The Register is conducted from the Forest Hill Community Space located within Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre. We are most grateful for the continuation of the space being provided when new owners acquired the shopping centre in March 2023.

For further information about joining the Register, please call 1800 954 772 or visit the Community Space on Level 2 Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm.
